Scattered Storms Through Weekend

We have broken some record cold lows over the past few days and I think most of you are tired of it. I don’t know for sure about you, but I think summer should be at least be warm! It’s been necessary to wear jackets out the past couple of mornings. Lets save that for later.

Today: Mostly sunny. High near 83 degrees.

Tonight: Some clouds move in. Low near 61 degrees.

Tomorrow: Scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. High around 80 degrees.

We’re gonna have rounds of moisture move in from the south and east over the next couple of days setting the stage for scattered showers and thunderstorms. I think the mountains are blocking us from the full potential of this rainfall. Check out this est. rain map from the GFS. The cutoff for excessive rain is pretty much drawn by the Appalachian mountains.

Here’s another vantage point fom the GFS. The moisture comes off the Atlantic. Which is weird for this time of year especially since it is not associated with any tropical depression etc.

The rain chances fade away by Sunday night and we get into my favorite part of the forecast… The warmup! Humidity will return this weekend and stick around until the beginning of next week, that’s when we finally get some actual heat building back in from the west. The humidity will make it even better if you ask me. I want some pool time this summer! Here’s the GFS’s take and it looks like this through the majority of the beginning of next week:

Are you excited for the return of summer? Let me know in the comment section below! Here is your 7 day forecast~
