Springlike Weather for Next Week

There’s about .5″ of snow on the ground here in Pikeville at 5:50 AM. It’ll be gone before too long. The snow last night was short lived and totals were cut back due to the wet ground and warm temps. How much did you get? We will quickly shake off this brief chilly weather fluke and head back into our spring warming trend.

Snow ending early. Otherwise partly cloudy with a high near 50 degrees.

Clear with a low around 34 degrees.

Sunny. High of 67 degrees.

Monday through Wednesday will be spectacular. Sunny skies and temps well into the 60s and 70s will be welcomed across the area. The warming will lead to some storms trying to impact our area by Thursday. We could be talking about springtime thunderstorms and maybe even severe weather with these. Check out the GFS, this is THURSDAY through SUNDAY:

That could spark up a couple rounds of strong storms with some very heavy rain. Western Kentucky looks to be in the “zone” for the heaviest rain over this time period but we could get in on some too with embedded thunderstorms. Here’s the estimated precip totals for the same time period:

So we’ll have to keep our eye on the storms this weekend but enjoy the beginning of the week! It’s going to be awesome!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back in tomorrow!
